Overall, Vitamin Cottage is the most economical place to shop for gluten-free packaged foods. Here you will find an extensive selection of gluten-free cereals, pastas and grains including the complete line of Bob’s Red Mill products. There is a great cookie section filled with treats from Pamela’s Products, Mi-Del, and Glutino, along with a variety of gluten-free crackers and snacks. An >entire aisle of the store is devoted to protein bars many of which are gluten-free. The frozen foods section includes delicious baked goods from both Kinnikinnick and Udi’s, two of my favorite brands.
Vitamin Cottage publishes a monthly insert that comes with the Albuquerque Journal’s Sunday edition. In addition to the items on sale for the month, you will also find details about free seminars offered at the store. Occasionally, the speakers will focus on subject pertinent to the people eating gluten free.
Update: As of August, 2012, Vitamin Cottage has a much larger selection of gluten-free products. A complete line of Schar products are available along with several new items in the freezer section. These include GlutenFreeda frozen burritos and Against the Grain Gourmet Frozen Pizza and Baguettes. These new products are wonderful!
