May 2014, from reader Dorothy: “Frontier is a great place to eat New Mexican food that is gluten free. When you order, make sure that you tell them that you have Celiac; not all staff are trained, but most I’ve encountered are happy to go over details of your order and they understand the meaning of “no cross-contamination.” The green chile stew is not made with wheat flour, and you can always order chopped green chile instead if you want. Their red chile also is not made with flour, which is unusual for a lot of NM restaurants. Just make sure that you tell them “no flour tortilla,” although every once in a while they will give me one anyway – fortunately it’s always served on a separate plate, so it hasn’t touched my food.”
